Delicious Sicilian Cannoli Recipe

The cannolo is a typical Sicilian sweet prepared especially during the carnival season. It is a mass that rolls into a tube shape. The filling can be nutella, fruit jelly, ricotta or cake cream. There’s something for everyone, so don’t miss them!
Cannoli recipe with peach jam
Ingredients
- 200 g of butter
- 1 can of heavy cream (250 mL).
- 2 cups of flour (500 g).
- Icing sugar for decorating.
- Peach jam (to taste).
Method of preparation
- Preheat oven to 120 ºC.
- In a container, mix the butter, cream and flour until it forms a smooth dough.
- After kneading, form a cylinder about 10 inches long and 10 inches wide.
- After wrapping it in wrapping paper, refrigerate it until it hardens. The ideal is to leave it overnight.
- On a table sprinkled with flour, roll out the dough previously removed from the refrigerator. Cut it into circles about a foot in diameter.
- From each circle, remove eight triangles. Ideally, use a pizza cutter and have the triangular cuts be in the center or even within the circle.
- With a spoon, place the peach jam in each triangle and roll them from the widest part to the narrowest part.
- The sides must be closed to prevent the jelly from coming out.
- Place them on a tray, with a little separation between them. Put them in the oven at a temperature of 160 ºC, until they turn golden.
- To decorate, sprinkle some icing sugar on top.

Ingredients
- 2 and a half cups of flour (500 g).
- 200 g of butter
- 1 jar of cream or sour cream (250 g).
- 10 tablespoons of refined sugar (100 g).
- Vanilla essence (to taste).
- To decorate: icing sugar.
- For the filling: nutella, peach or strawberry jam.
Method of preparation
- Put the oven to preheat to 120 ºC.
- Mix the butter, cream or cream, flour, sugar and vanilla in a bowl. You can add more flour if the dough is too soft.
- Line the dough ball with film and refrigerate until it hardens. The ideal is to refrigerate it overnight; at the very least, it should be refrigerated for two hours.
- On a floured table, roll out the dough and cut it into plate-sized circles. Using a pizza cutter, cut 8 triangles of equal size.
- Spoon the nutella filling, peach or strawberry jam, or whatever you decide to use to fill the cannoli.
- Close the sides tightly to prevent the filling from escaping.
- Place the cannoli on a tray, leaving a space between them, and bake them at 160°C until golden.
- To decorate, sprinkle icing sugar on top. You can also use syrup, caramel, etc.
Cannoli recipe with peach jam
Ingredients
- 1 pinch of salt.
- 1/2 cup of sugar (100 g).
- 4 cups of flour (400 g).
- 2 medium eggs (120 g).
- 2 cups of peach jam (200 g).
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder (5 g).
- 1 cup and 1/4 of creamy or pomaded butter (120 g).
Method of preparation
- Break one of the eggs and separate the yolk. Reserve.
- Put the oven to preheat to 120 ºC.
- Place the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
- In a container, beat the ointment butter with the sugar until it forms a well-mixed and homogeneous cream.
- Slowly incorporate a whole egg plus the yolk that was set aside, previously beaten.
- Gradually add the flour until it forms a smooth mixture. Avoid the formation of lumps or changes; the folder has to be well integrated. Then take it to refrigerate for an hour or so.
- Once this time has passed, remove the dough from the refrigerator and set aside one third of the dough. Stretch the rest into a mold 23 centimeters in diameter, previously greased with butter and flour.
- Cover the entire base generously with peach jam.
- With the reserved dough, make strips, circles or hearts that will serve to decorate.
- Paint with egg yolk and bake at medium temperature for 35 minutes or until cooked and browned.
- Cool slightly to room temperature before serving.
