Make Your Own Party Hats With These Different Designs

1. Children’s party hats

Children’s celebrations require fun elements like hats. Otherwise, what will they laugh about when they grow up and look at pictures of their past birthdays and parties?

To make party hats for kids, follow these steps:

1. Cut out colored cardboard with the help of a party hat template. You can look them up on the internet or just draw it: it has a fan shape. That is, two straight lines with an angle of almost 180 degrees and a curve that joins the ends.
2. Fold cut cardboard to form a cone and glue.
3. Thread a string of elastic on each side of the hat and double-knot the inside to secure it.
4. Decorate with drawings, painted phrases or pompoms, according to the theme and decoration of the party.

2. Party hats for adults

Following the wave of cone-shaped hats, you can make some really funny ones with this same process. However, colors and decor can vary greatly.

Some options are to include fluorescent colors or paint phrases or symbols,  like that of a football team or a superhero, for example. Of course, if it’s a party that will only be attended by older people, the bolder designs can also be really fun.

3. Rubber Hats

Few moments at the party are as fun as when you become a magician who pulls rabbits out of a hat. The only downside, of course, is that the hat has extravagant colors and, most likely, its appearance will not be the prettiest.

However,  just follow a few simple steps for you to create beautiful foam hats. We will explain how:

1. Mark two circular circles on an EVA rubber plate. One must be twice as large as the other.
2. Cut a rectangle the size you want for your hat. Keep in mind that this will actually shape the height of the prop. Calculate the width according to the smallest circle you cut in the first step.
3. Glue the ends of this rectangle together to form a cylinder.
4. Now paste this cylinder into the larger circle. It’s best to let the glue sit for a few minutes before sticking it to the base of the hat.
5. Glue the smallest circle to the top of the hat.
6. Add the decorative details you prefer : rubber shapes or letters, glitter, etc.

4. Anniversary wreaths

Ladies cannot be without their accessory for the moment of the party. Therefore, we will also show you how to create crowns quickly and easily.

There are two different models. The first is made from a headband and a plastic cup,  which can be colored or pre-decorated with paint, glitter and other elements.

To begin, cut the top end of the cup in a zigzag pattern, simulating the top of a crown. On these peaks, you can place pompoms to make the crown more colorful.

Then, drill two holes in the base of the cup, where you should put the elastic band. Try not to have the glass centered, but tilted to one side. To secure the crown, you can attach a rubber band and tie it to each end of the elastic band, but this is optional.

On the other hand, for the cardboard wreath, cut a strip of cardboard and cut a zigzag edge. Then you can write a sentence, paint it or decorate it to your liking.

Then drill two holes in the ends of the crown to pass a piece of fabric, which will be used to tie to the back of the head. Try to make it as elegant as possible.
