Homemade Orange Cake In 5 Minutes

Thanks to yogurt we can make an orange cake simply and quickly and without envying the results of much more elaborate ones.

If there’s one thing the cake stands out for, it’s one of the most versatile desserts out there. This is due, fundamentally, to the fact that its preparation allows for an infinite number of possibilities regarding the type and flavors. For example, the orange cake we are going to prepare today.

On the other hand, cake is such a popular recipe that several ways to bake it in the microwave in 5 minutes have been discovered. This facility resides in the famous yogurt shape or size, as its size is similar to a cup or a yogurt container.

Cake has more advantages as a dessert. For example, it’s a dessert that  stays soft like the first day for several days. It can be eaten cold, even hot when fresh, if made with chocolate.

The ideal is to make it in a square or rectangular shape, especially if it is a specific cake for this type of dessert. Likewise, as said before, we can do it in a cup of those we use to drink water. We will only have to adjust the amounts of ingredients.

You will see how easy it is to prepare a cake at home in 5 minutes. Also, this recipe can be used for any type of cake. In other words, we will only have to replace the ingredient that gives the flavor another one. In this case, the orange for the lemon or chocolate, for example.

Ingredients

  • A natural yogurt (125 g)
  • 3 eggs
  • Flour (3 scoops of yogurt)
  • Sugar (2 scoops of yogurt)
  • 1 big orange
  • Olive oil (1 scoop of yogurt)
  • 1 package of baking powder
  • Butter to grease the mold, or baking paper

Depending on the potency of flavor you want, use a milder or stronger oil. It will depend on your taste.

  • First, empty the yogurt package. We will need the milk, which is why we must pour the yogurt into another container. The yogurt packaging will serve us as a universal measure for the orange cake ingredients.
  • Preheat the oven for 10 minutes at 180 ºC.
  • Then,  grate the orange peel  until it is white. On the other hand, peel all the orange and mash the berries in a separate bowl.
  • In this bowl add the sugar, eggs, yogurt, orange zest and oil. Grind the ingredients with an electric mixer until a smooth dough.
  • Now is the time to add the flour and yeast. First sam them before adding them.
  • Soon after, butter the cake pan, either with your finger or with the help of a brush, and also place the baking paper. With these two steps the cake should not stick to the pan.
  • Pour the dough into the pan and place it in the oven at a medium height and bake at 180 ºC for about 35 minutes. We have to take into account that irregular molds should stay about 5 to 10 minutes longer than squares.
  • Now do the toothpick test to see if it’s ready:  skewer the cake with a toothpick, and if it comes out without any sticky debris, it’s ready. If not, leave it for a few more minutes.
  • Finally, remove the cake from the oven. You have to let it cool down a bit before taking it out of the mold, so that it doesn’t fall apart.
  • Now, just let it cool down to be able to consume it.

Presentation

To present this cake, if you are going to serve it for a visit,  we can add confectioned oranges on top of the orange cake itself.

Ingredients

  • 1 or 2 oranges.
  • 4 cups of water (1 liter).
  • 5 cups of sugar (1 kg).

Method of preparation

  • First, to decorate the oranges, just let them rest in a liter of water together with a kilo of sugar.
  • If you want it to caramelize, place the oranges in the oven for 5 minutes before removing the orange cake.
  • With lemon, we have to follow the same procedure: grate and peel the lemon.
  • With chocolate, we simply have to heat it a little in a Maria bath before beating it, so that it is easier to mix.
  • We can also incorporate honey into our recipes.
