In the type of Japanese decoration, what stands out most is minimalism; in other words, little furniture, very sober and simple. Decorative elements are not used excessively, simply the necessary furniture and nothing ostentatious about them. Low table and chairs

The Japanese sit on the ground. The tables are very low and thick and comfortable cushions are used,  in sober and light colors. You will notice that the tables are very small compared to western ones.

Elements of nature

Nature is very present in Japanese culture. They use wood of different types, decorate with plants and pay tribute to water. You can choose some of these elements in each room in the house:

• First, traditional Japanese plants like bamboo or bonsai. They will always look natural and green.
• Soon, large windows that overlook large green plantations.
• Small gardens in specific places in the room with wood and stone decorations.

Doors and windows in Japanese decor

This type of sliding door is widely used in Japan due to lack of space. This feature makes every square inch care and special. They are usually large and translucent, as they are made of paper with a wooden frame. They fulfill the function of doors and walls at the same time.

The windows are extremely wide and always let you see the nature that is found outside. They are slides just like the doors and of similar structure.

On the other hand, screens are often used to separate spaces. They are mobile, translucent and simple divisions that help to achieve union or separation of the environments in an easy, fast and effective way. Without a doubt, it is a great solution if we have a modern house with little space.

Japanese bathtubs

Certainly, in Japanese culture, bathing is a relaxing and purifying time. That’s why bathtubs are rectangular and deep. They have a seat so that the body is completely submerged in water. Traditionally, they were made with a special wood that reproduced its aroma in the water, producing a relaxing effect.
